I decided that I don’t want to put any of the processed crap into my body anymore. No more chips, kielbasas, dry cereals, bread or milk. Basically, if I can’t buy it in its raw natural state, I won’t eat it!

My goals are to have more energy, feel better physically and hopefully loose a little weight. I have two little kids and I need as much energy as I can possibly master to keep up with them and the household, and maybe have a little extra left for things that I enjoy doing for myself. Health wise I don’t have much to complain about, but there is definitely room for improvement. I do get occasional colds and quite often I get cold sores inside my nose. My nails have become brittle and I was told by my dentist that I am loosing the gum bone. Both of these are more likely due to two pregnancies and the breastfeeding. As far as weight, ideally I would like to loose about 15 pounds, which would put me down to pre-kids weight.

So far it’s been a few days since I’ve started and I’m feeling good. I don’t have restrictions of how much I eat, just what I eat. My cravings have subsided, but I still do crave the ‘bad’ things. The worst time is when I have to feed them to my two-year old. It’s hard not to take a bite off of the peanut butter and jelly sandwich or take a sip of cold milk.

They recommend to do it once per month, but I haven’t done one since August of last year. Even though my weight and my BMI (Body Mass Index) are considered to be in the normal range, my goal is to slim down to my pre-pregnancy weight. Before I got pregnant I weighed 125 pounds and at the time of my evaluation in August I weighed 138.5.

So today I was anxious to see my progress between August and now. I was pretty sure that I lost weight based on how my clothes fit me now, but I was quite surprised to find that I only lost less than 2 pounds! Well, weight is not everything I guess. According to my measurements, I lost some inches everywhere. The biggest difference was in my waist, it’s 2 inches smaller now! My guess is that I did loose some fat and gained some muscle. I think I also had some of that post-pregnancy puffiness back then. Glad it’s gone now!

Well, I still got some work to do to reach my goal. This requires loosing 12 pounds. I know it’s not an easy road, but as long as I strive I’ll be there some day.
