So as I was mentioning in my earlier post, I decided to start making a little bit of money for myself. It’s not like we need it to survive, it’s more for the sake of keeping my sanity. At the moment I am a stay-at-home mom, and my main priority is taking care of my family. My daily tasks are housekeeping, cooking, taking care of my daughter and keeping husband happy. But the longer I do it, the more I realize, that my mind is starting to go numb. I am realizing I have no game in my life. It’s not like I wake up in the morning and go, oh goody, I get to scrub the tub today and do a load of whites! Admit it, it’s not terribly exciting.

Obviously, I could always go back to a full-time job. Except that in couple of months we are expecting a son. I would feel terribly guilty dropping an infant at the daycare just so I can keep my life exciting. It would be selfish. I want to keep my son at home until he’s at least a year and half. And even then, I am not sure if I could leave my kids at the daycare for a full day.

So what a mommy to do?

Money always makes me excited. Making money is a fun game. I understand that I can’t make a full-time engineer’s income working part time from my house. At least not yet. But having a goal is always a great start. My husband is a big inspiration for me. He is an awesome entrepreneur, he makes all of our money online and loves it. Work is a game for him, and that’s why he is successful at it.

So now let me tell you how the idea of creating my own info product came about. I got pregnant very fast, literally within days after our wedding. Pregnancy caught us unexpectedly, we had no maternity insurance or any other funds to pay for my maternity bills. We were stuck between a rock and a hard place. If you’re interested in the full story check out my sales page.

To sum it up shortly, we dealt with my maternity bills ourselves without having maternity insurance or any other type of support. Once I got over the shock of having a newborn, I published an article on my blog about how I saved money on maternity bills. It was one of the more popular articles, and I got great feedback. My husband then suggested, why not make an info product from that. I said, mmmmm, are you serious? Why not he said, once you set it up, you can practically make money while you’re sleeping. Money, I thought, money sounds good.

It took me over six months to turn this idea into reality. Not because I was working really hard on it. It’s more like I was hardly working on it. It kept being pushed aside, for other ‘priorities’ and finally I made a decision to just get it done already! So after many hours of figuring out formatting, creating a PDF file, exploring vendor options, setting up product for sale online, my product is out there, ready to be bought! I know, some of you are probably laughing at me, because you can do it all in couple of hours or less. Ha ha, forgive the newbe.

But I still can’t call myself a mompreneur, because I haven’t made a penny yet. But I’m working on it. I will be posting updates on my progress, so check in soon!

Until then, happy money-making!
