About
Welcome to my blog! I’m Malika Risley, stay-at-home mommy to daughter Elyana and a wife to the successful blogger and internet marketer David Risley.
I write about things that interest me and my own personal experiences as a woman, mommy, housewife, former corporate professional, engineer and a foreigner. Here you will find topics about kids, saving money, saving energy, green living, reviews of beauty products and other reviews that I felt passionate about. Hope you find my blog interesting and educational, and I hope to see you here again soon!
If you’re not too bored so far, here is a little about myself:
In 1992 I moved to Sarasota, Florida from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. I lived in Sarasota with my father, a Russian ballet dancer who at the time was working at a local ballet company. In Sarasota I attended Booker High School and then Manatee Community College. In 1999 I moved to Tampa to start University of South Florida. I graduated in 2002 with a chemical engineering degree. I then got a job as a process engineer at Mosaic Fertilizer, a local fertilizer manufacturing plant.
In September of 2006 I decided to leave Mosaic and pursue my masters in Civil Engineering. My studies were put on hold in December of ‘07 when I had my baby girl Elyana. So that’s how I got to be where I am right now.
You can call me a typical female, who loves shopping, eating out, dark chocolate, wine, occasional cooking, traveling.
